Pea seeds – easy, productive and perfect in the vegetable garden

When you choose pea seeds, you get one of the most rewarding vegetables to grow. Peas thrive in most gardens and quickly reward you with fresh pods full of flavor. They can be grown in raised beds, vegetable gardens, pots or along trellises, and they require only minimal care. Our range includes snow peas, sugar snap peas and sweet peas, among others.

How to sow peas – step by step

If you want to know how to sow peas, here is the process in brief:

Place the seeds in lukewarm water for a few hours to help them germinate better.
Provide loose, nutrient-rich soil, and sow the peas directly outdoors when the soil is warm, typically from April. Place the seeds in rows, about 5 cm deep, and remember to leave plenty of space between the plants so they have room to grow. Many varieties require support – use netting, branches or trellises, for example. After a few weeks, the plants will start to climb, and soon the first flowers will follow, followed by the delicious, crispy pods.

Get the most out of your peas – tips for a better harvest

To get a long season of fresh peas, sow in several batches throughout the spring and summer. Pick the pods often – the more you harvest, the more new ones the plant will produce. Keep the soil lightly moist, and give the plants a sunny spot in the garden for optimal flavor and yield.
