Astilbe – decorative perennial
Astilbe is known for its decorative inflorescences in shades of white, pink, purple and red, which create beautiful contrasts in shady beds. The flowers stand in upright spikes that are incredibly beautiful.
Astilbe is also a great choice for pots and containers, where they can be combined with other shade-tolerant plants such as ferns, hosta and heuchera. Their lush growth makes them ideal for creating colorful and vibrant shade gardens.
Care and planting of astilbe
For optimal growth, astilbe should be planted in well-drained, nutrient-rich, moist soil. They thrive best in partial shade, but will also tolerate full shade. Regular watering is important, especially during dry periods, to maintain vigor and ensure flowering.
Remove faded flowers and leaves as needed to keep the plant healthy and encourage new growth. With proper care, astilbe will bloom beautifully every year, adding color and elegance to the garden.
