What is a bush rose?

Most shrub roses bloom in June at the beginning of the summer, there are a few that rebloom and bloom continuously. The common shrub roses set rose hips after flowering, so even if there are no flowers, they are still incredibly beautiful.

Shrub roses are also suitable for hedges.

Pruning shrub roses

Shrub roses are not pruned in the spring like traditional roses, but a branch is thinned here and there to make room for new branches.

Special shrub roses

We have a number of special bush roses that we have collected. Here I can mention the Cinnamon Rose, which grows at Stadil Church, and which the monks have brought with them, it is found only in two places in Denmark. The Cinnamon Rose can also be seen in the Rose Garden.
