Water lilies – growth and placement
Water lilies thrive best in still water with good sunlight. The plant requires a suitable depth where the tuber can lie stable, while the leaves float on the surface of the water. The soil should be nutrient-rich and clay-rich, so that the tuber gets sufficient support and nourishment.
There are water lilies for different depths, the correct depth is indicated on the plant. With correct placement, water lilies can form large leaves and impressive flowers.
How to plant a water lily
How to plant a water lily: First, place the tuber in a suitable container with heavy, nutrient-rich soil/clay, covered with a layer of gravel to hold the soil/clay in place. The container is then lowered into the water, where the leaves can float freely. Tip: It is a good idea to do it in a tub first and let the newly planted plant settle. This way you don't end up with clay and soil powder all over the pond.
