Rose hips
The rose hips we sell are bred so that they do not spread by root suckers. They are planted with the grafting site above the ground - otherwise they will form root suckers. Our rose hips have all the good qualities of the wild rose - wrinkled rose.
The rose hips and the sand roses are all very hardy and tolerate exposed locations.
When do rose hips and sea buckthorns bloom?
Wrinkled rose / rose hips that bloom once set rose hips after their flowers. These rose hips can be used in many recipes for different food dishes.
Most rose hips and sand roses start flowering in early June and both types are very hardy and perfect for the garden at the summer house. The rose hip is a large, beautiful shrub rose, perfect for the natural garden.
Several of our rose hips are remontant and have fantastic flowers, giving you the wild look of a rose hip while also flowering all summer long. Remember to pinch off the wilted flowers so that the rose produces new flowers instead of rose hips.
