Blackcurrant bushes produce blackcurrants quickly. It is an easy plant for the garden. They usually ripen in July. A good way to keep the bush young is to prune away some old branches every year - this makes room for the new branches. We have both large, powerful bushes that give enormous yields and more moderate-growing ones for the small garden.
