Cabbage seeds should be pre-germinated inside trays or in the greenhouse. When the plants have 4 leaves, they can be planted out.
If you want to avoid worms in the cabbage, they can be covered with insect netting until about July 1st. Kale, Brussels sprouts and palm cabbage can withstand some frost, so you can harvest them over the winter. These types of cabbage often bloom in early spring, but the flower buds taste good and can be used in, for example, wok dishes.
