Climbing roses usually start blooming in July and bloom for the rest of the season. The size of the climbing rose depends on the location; in a sheltered spot, most can grow to 3m. In a more exposed spot, the same climbing rose will only grow to 2m. There is a slight difference in the growth of the different varieties, so the exact size depends on several things. The roses are cut back a little every year, preferably in layers, so that new growth occurs on a large part of the climbing rose. To rejuvenate climbing roses, it can be an advantage to cut 1-2 branches back hard in the spring.
